Senate Banking Committee Chairman Tim Johnson (D-S.D.) yesterday announced that he will not run for re-election in 2014. Johnson, who will be 68 when his current term ends, has served on the panel since 1997 and became chairman in 2011. The next Democrats in line for the chair, in order of seniority, are Sens. Jack Reed (R.I.), Charles Schumer (N.Y.), Robert Menendez (N.J.) and Sherrod Brown (Ohio).
