Senators Promise to Filibuster Until Flood Insurance Rate Increases are Delayed

This week, Louisiana's senators, Republican David Vitter and Democrat Mary Landrieu, presented a united front when they threatened to block President Obama's nominee to head the Department of Homeland Security.  The bipartisan Louisiana senators are demanding a delay in the flood insurance rate increases that are part of the Biggert-Waters Act before they will allow nomination to proceed.

The Senators' concerns were outlined in a letter to the President authored by Sen. Vitter and co-signed by Sen. Landrieu.
