House Bill Would Delay Flood Insurance Premium Increases Pending Affordability Study

Congressman Richard Nugent introduced the Flood Insurance Fairness Act of 2013 (H.R. 3218), which would delay increases in flood insurance premium rates under the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) until completion of an affordability study and congressional consideration of reforms to make rates affordable.

This is not the first bill introduced in Congress that seeks to delay the flood insurance premium increases mandated in the Biggert-Waters Act. Other bills include:
