Yesterday, the American Bankers Insurance Association (ABIA) hosted a Compliance Webinar and Discussion Group on Licensing Requirements. Outside Counsel Chrys Lemon and Michael Aphibal, McIntyre and Lemon, PLLC, discussed the licensing requirements for those working in the insurance industry. The NAIC’s Producer Licensing Model Act, adopted by most states, sets out when and where insurance entities and professionals are required to be licensed as an agency or a producer, respectively.
The webinar provided an overview of the types of activities that require a license and the type of licenses that entities or individuals may be required to obtain. They also discussed how the new National Association of Registered Agents and Brokers (NARAB) will affect multi-state licensing.
