FDIC Announces Relief for Virginia Banks after Hurricane Matthew

The FDIC on Friday announced steps to provide regulatory relief to financial institutions and facilitate recovery in areas of Virginia affected by Hurricane Matthew in October. The FDIC is encouraging banks to work constructively with borrowers experiencing difficulties beyond their control as a result of the severe weather and flooding. It will also consider regulatory relief from certain filing and publishing requirements.
