Representative John Ratcliffe (R-TX), Chairman of the House Homeland Security Subcommittee on Cyber announced his cybersecurity and cyberinsurance priorities for the 115th Congress. Ratcliffe said that he will focus on federal network protection and workforce development. "The importance of cybersecurity to every aspect of society is becoming increasingly apparent," Ratcliffe said. "Cybersecurity is a prominent and permanent factor we must take into account as we formulate national security strategies, develop policies for protecting our critical infrastructure, and strive to safeguard the personal privacy of Americans." He also mentioned that his panel's oversight agenda would include implementation of 2015's landmark information sharing law, developing public-private partnerships and making sure the federal government makes use of innovative cybersecurity technology.
